Ottimo House Project
In 2023, Ottimo House underwent a marquee expansion project that significantly elevated its appeal as a wedding and event venue. This upgrade not only increased the available indoor space but also improved guest flow, natural lighting, and overall functionality, making it even more suitable for stylish and memorable celebrations.
To start, the project team relocated the existing glass gable end of the marquee. Instead of its original position, it was refitted as a full-height glazed frontage above a newly constructed 5-metre-wide outdoor timber deck. This strategic move immediately enhanced the visual appeal of the entry while allowing more natural light to flood the interior space.

Inside the upgraded marquee, the polished concrete floor adds a contemporary and durable finish. In addition, internal wall and ceiling linings contribute to the refined aesthetic, creating a space that feels both elegant and welcoming. A separate toilet area was also added, improving guest comfort and convenience during long events.
Moreover, the newly added 5-metre timber deck extends the functionality of the venue. It offers additional room for pre-dinner drinks, photo opportunities, or open-air ceremony setups, allowing hosts to customise the space according to the needs of each event.
In conclusion, the marquee upgrade at Ottimo House delivers a more spacious, stylish, and functional venue that caters to modern event needs. The Jetty, located in the heart of Canberra, required a modular structure to cover its seasonal entertainment space, which operates through to April. The venue hosts live music and offers premium local food and beverages throughout the summer months.
