Inter Islander Ferry Terminal

Modular Structure at Waitohi Picton

PROJECT

Inter Islander Ferry Terminal

The development of the new Inter Islander Ferry Terminal in Waitohi Picton marks a significant step forward in improving New Zealand’s transport infrastructure. The terminal upgrade is designed to support the arrival of two new purpose-built ferries. This offers a more sustainable and efficient travel experience between the North and South Islands.

The initiative forms part of a wider $8.6 billion government investment in KiwiRail’s rail and ferry network. The goal is to provide smoother integration between rail and sea transport, improving how both people and freight move across the country.

The structure features a robust modular frame system, paired with a thermo-insulated roofing solution. This provides both energy efficiency and climate control, important for a coastal location subject to varied weather conditions. A full guttering system supports effective water drainage, adding to the structure’s durability and long-term performance.

This modular solution supports the transition to the new ferry operations while aligning with long-term infrastructure goals. The use of high-quality materials, and custom architectural modifications ensures the structure not only meets current operational requirements but can also adapt to future needs.

Wall System and Custom Features:

The car dealership was on the lookout for suitable options for its customers regarding the extension of its showroom display centre for the new LDV range.

Scrub Hill is a charming rural venue renowned for its picturesque landscape and tranquil setting. To enhance the experience for guests attending weddings and special events, a refined modular glass marquee was installed on the property’s manicured lawns.

The Jetty, located in the heart of Canberra, required a modular structure to cover its seasonal entertainment space, which operates through to April. The venue hosts live music and offers premium local food and beverages throughout the summer months.
